When you purchase a Sierra Designs product, we want you to be confident in your choice and know that we've got your back. To do what we can to stand by our products, we have a limited lifetime warranty for our products that covers manufacturing defects in the materials and workmanship.
What items are covered under warranty?
Sierra Designs branded tents, backpacks, sleeping bags, and apparel purchased only from authorized sellers are warranted to the original purchaser. This means no secondhand items or non-original purchasers will be a part of our warranty.
What does 'lifetime' really mean?
When you hear 'lifetime' it can be a bit confusing- My lifetime? My tent's lifetime? My dog's lifetime? The lifetime of my camping snacks? When we say lifetime, we do not mean any lifetime, but instead the reasonable lifetime of the product, considering its age and how you have cared for and used it (rough wear and tear is not covered). For example:
- Sierra Designs branded gear like pillows and accessories are covered by a 1-year warranty for any manufacturing defect.
- Sierra Designs branded tents, sleeping bags, packs and apparel are covered for the lifetime of the product for any manufacturing defect, which is generally 6-10 years.
What do you do if one of my items fits the warranty requirements and qualifies as a manufacturing defect?
If a Sierra Designs branded product covered by one of these warranty options qualifies as a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product, without charge, or replace it, at our discretion. Only original, unaltered, and unmodified materials and workmanship are covered by this warranty.
What is not covered by warranty?
You know that time that a furry friend decided to help itself to those aforementioned camping snacks and ate a hole through your pack? Or the time you sat a little too close to the fire only to find a singe mark decorating your favorite chair? Or when that gnarly hail storm came through and made your rainfly look like a slice of Swiss cheese? Unfortunately, damages like these do not fall under our warranty. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use. This warranty does not cover consequential damages or any other losses arising from any defect of the product. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Damage not covered under warranty may be repaired for a reasonable rate and a fee will be charged for shipping.
Sierra Designs' Limited warranty does not apply to products that are not Sierra Designs-branded, even if packaged or sold with Sierra Designs products. Non-Sierra Designs-branded products may have a manufacturer's warranty provided by the proper manufacturer. Please see your product box and literature for details.
Okay, I think my item qualifies for a warranty claim, what do I need in order to process a warranty?
While every warranty claim is unique, we do require a few core bits of information in order to process any warranty claim. Please be sure to have the following prepared when you go to start the warranty process:
- Proof of purchase/original sales receipt (we require proof of purchase from an authorized seller to qualify for warranty service, unless otherwise prohibited by law)
- Photos of the damages
